Friendship Call to Worship

Written by Rev. Dr. Christie Love

Call to Worship

In John 15, Jesus says that he calls us friends. What an honor to be invited into this divine connection!

Today, we come to connect with our friend in worship, prayer, and community.

Friendship and connection remind us that we were created to be in community with one another and not do life alone. Relationship is a holy gift. It is how God connects with us and how we connect with one another. May we be grateful for the relationships that we have and be willing to cultivate new connections with others.

May friendship and love fills this place.

May we be grateful for those who we have done life, who have been with us in good times and in bad. May we always express our appreciation for those who have laughed with us and cried with us. May we remember those who have shaped and impacted our life journeys and helped to make us into the people that we are today.

Thank you, God, for the gift of friendship and relationships.

Unison Prayer:

God, we are grateful for the gifts of connection with you and with others. May we make space in our lives for others to walk with us, teach us, encourage us, and do life with us. Amen.
